I look at this church everyday from my family room and it has shown up in a couple of the Be Ohio Proud
photos so I wanted to do a little research on it. I couldn't find a ton, but here's what I did find out...
- The church was built in 1867
- It was formerly known as the Salem German Evangelical Reformed Church or Deutsche Evangelisch Reformierte Salems Kirche
- Services were held in German until the 1930s! I think this is especially cool - love the German roots!
- The Know Theatre
used some space in the church when it started.
This is a historic gem that I am quite proud of! If you have any more information about this building, feel free to post it in the comments!
