I have yet another reason for you to Be Ohio Proud. It is a place called Redbird Hollow. It is located in Indian Hill and is one of my personal favorite hiking spots. Not only is the scenery beautiful, you are also allowed to let your dog off leash on the trail. The area was designated a Ohio Natural Landmark in 1983.
We have the residents around the area to thank for preserving this gem. In 1964 they donated portions of their land and purchased the rest. Once the land was secured they donated part of it to the Nature Conservancy and the rest fell under a newly formed Redbird Hollow Association. More details can be found here: http://www.indianhill.org/history/hist020.htm
I hope you have a chance to check out this beautiful 54-acre parcel for yourself!
