It's almost lunch time. Where are you going to go? Decisions can be hard, and North Market doesn't make it any easier with so many options. But in my opinion, that can be a good thing.
North Market has everything from Indian food to Belgium waffles, from Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams to delicious coffee, from grocery stores to a (wonderful) beer store. North Market has
EVERYTHING!
North Market first opened in 1876 in Columbus. Through time and some struggle (including a fire in 1948!), North Market is stronger than ever in it’s current location, 59 Spruce St. Columbus, OH 43215. The North Market Development Authority (NMDA) was created to protect the history and culture of this place and according to the North Market Board, “protecting our heritage and preserving our legacy takes a village” which is why so many people work together to keep this place amazing!
Ohio pride is alive and well at the North Market in many forms and with many merchants. One of those forms is through the locally grown foods you can purchase at the Farmer's Market. Taken straight from their website, "To get fresh, locally grown produce, herbs and goodies, you have two choices: The hard way: Grow it yourself. The easy way: Support small, local farmers and get thyself to the North Market’s east patio every Saturday during the growing season (roughly April through late October/early November) starting at 8 a.m. for homegrown fresh-picked produce."
North Market is the perfect place to come, whether you are visiting for a business lunch meeting, brunch with friends, hanging out with a group of picky eaters, or maybe you just need to do some shopping. There are parking meters and a North Market parking lot, but make sure you bring your ticket inside with you to have it validated!! They have seating upstairs and outdoor (I’m currently sitting outside eating a yummy pretzel from brēzel, and the weather is super nice! Life couldn't be any more perfect!). North Market also holds
activities and events and even cooking classes! Still not sure you want to come to North Market? Take a tour. They have those too.
Which North Market merchant is your favorite?!
