I'm currently sitting in Coffee Emporium's Over-the-Rhine location enjoying a delicious black bean burger and some coffee. After a morning of visiting a few of their shops around the city, I've ended up here to enjoy the awesome atmosphere and get some work done. Coffee Emporium is definitely my most frequented coffee shop in Cincinnati. I spent many days at their OTR location in college because I found it to be the best place to study and refuel with many caffeinated beverages. Now that I live up closer to their Hyde Park location, I find myself there at least once a week to meet up with a friend or just to unwind.
In my opinion, Coffee Emporium has nailed the coffee shop atmosphere perfectly. I feel at home when I walk into one of their shops, and I am always greeted by such a friendly staff! As the oldest locally owned coffeehouse in the city, they have been around since 1973 roasting and brewing quality coffee for our enjoyment. They have made it a point to become involved in the communities they are located within, and it definitely shows. In fact, they have been a huge support for us at Be Ohio Proud! Check out their door for their OTR location and you might see something familiar!
Coffee Emporium first opened in Hyde Park Square as Coffee Tea & Spices, and six years later moved to their present location in Hyde Park on the corner of Erie Ave and Victoria Ave. It might be the most photogenic coffee shop you'll ever lay eyes on, and is a great spot to spend a sunny afternoon because they have an awesome outdoor space. They have definitely built a loyal group of customers because no matter what time I stop by, there are always people gathered on the patios or waiting in line to order yet another wonderful cup of coffee or tea.
Today I even ventured to one of their downtown locations in the Great American building because one of my friends is a barista there. I think it speaks volumes that people enjoy Coffee Emporium's coffee so much that they've been able to open locations in so many parts of the city. They even have locations at Xavier University! It's hard for me to find anything not to love about Coffee Emporium. Just walk into one of their locations and take in the delightful smells of freshly roasted coffee beans and you'll be sold! That's all it took for me. Thanks to Coffee Emporium we have yet another reason to be proud of the city of Cincinnati and the great state of Ohio. They work hard to bring us the best coffee from all over the world and yet keep the process entirely local.
Just to note for all you non-coffee drinkers out there, they also have excellent drinks for you as well! And a whole list of delicious food for either breakfast or lunch. Check them out!
