Have you ever walked into a store and immediately wanted to buy everything in sight? That's how I felt when I first stepped into Park+Vine. This shop is nestled into Over-the-Rhine, located right on Main Street. They first opened doors in May of 2007, but have been at their present location for the past two and a half years. If you haven't heard of Park+Vine prior to this, you should definitely check them out and stop into the store at your next opportunity.
The store's primary goal is to support an eco-friendly lifestyle, one that reduces our use of animal byproducts and natural resources. I personally have never encountered a shop that is more aware of our impact on this world, and works hard to bring us products that will allow us to treat both ourselves and this planet well. Not only do they carry these awesome products, but they also offer the education to back it up. The staff is super friendly, and willing to answer any questions you may have. Not only that, but the shop itself offers workshops and classes to better educate the community on what they can be doing to reduce their footprint.
When you walk in, you will see a range of products from reusable containers for just about anything you can imagine, a whole section dedicated to health and beauty products, locally produced clothing and jewelry, books and other paper goods, products focused on supplying babies with safe and sustainable toys and even cloth diapers! In the very back of the shop, there is a section dedicated to home goods, such as nontoxic cleaning supplies and paint. Off to your right, you will see an awesome grocery section and their Vegan Cafe-which offers some delicious food. I can hardly describe how impressed I was by the range of products offered in this shop. Upon leaving, with a small collection of purchases in tow, I felt better educated as to what steps I can take to reduce my personal impact on the environment.
I love everything about Park+Vine, but I think the coolest thing to see is how invested they are in the community and the city of Cincinnati. They support other local businesses, and even have a list of a bunch of locally owned restaurants, coffee shops and various other shops on their website! Their love for the city of Cincinnati, and Over-the-Rhine in particular, is definitely something worth supporting and being proud of. So go ahead and check out Park+Vine and support a local business that is working hard to bring us eco-friendly products all while loving and serving this city so well!
Oh, and did I mention they even support us at Be Ohio Proud? Yet another reason to love them and be thankful for a place that supports other local businesses! Check out our stickers at the register...
