Right now at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden it is definitely spring! Zoo Blooms is going on, which means bright and colorful tulips all throughout the zoo! They are absolutely gorgeous and bring a whole new level of excitement for a trip to the zoo. The inner child in me came out the minute I walked into the zoo and saw all the tulips and smelled the sweet aroma of all the flowers. Add on top of that all the incredible animals and exhibits and you have an awesome day in store!
Zoo Blooms has been going on for the whole month of April, but if you haven't had a chance to make it to the zoo yet, this week is a great opportunity! This Thursday, May 2nd, the Cincinnati Zoo will be hosting Tunes and Blooms from 6-8:30. Admission into the zoo is free after 5 pm as well, so it could be a really great time to head to the zoo and hear some great local music. This week there will be live music by Jake Speed & The Freddies and also The Turkeys!
The Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden is one of my favorite places in Cincinnati and even in the whole state Ohio. I've always had a love for animals, and I enjoy going to the zoo and getting to see so many amazing creatures. Another cool thing about our zoo here in Cincinnati is that it has been named The Greenest Zoo in America! They have made a huge effort to be as environmentally friendly, including using huge solar panels to supply a big chunk of the zoo's energy. There are so many other projects such as water conservation and composting. It's definitely worth checking out!
But let's be real. The animals are definitely the cutest thing at the zoo, and I can't help but share a few of my favorites:
And to add to zoo excitement...Zoo Babies starts this week as well!! So stop by the Cincinnati Zoo this week for either some live music and flowers at Tunes and Blooms or come see all the adorable baby animals when Zoo Babies starts on Wednesday! I think we can all agree that the zoo is just an awesome place and will more than likely bring out the kid inside of us all!
