The temperature here in Columbus has been pretty hot recently. Which, of course, is a perfect time for my AC to stop working. Because of this, I had to figure out a way to cool down, and what better way than to get ice cream?! Naturally, I thought Jeni's.
Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams first started here in Columbus in the North Market, back in 2002. Jeni Britton Bauer was attending the Ohio State University when she learned about her passion for tasty desserts. Now you can go to 9 different Ohio locations, 1 Tennessee location, buy pints in more than 700 grocery stores around the U.S., purchase online from Jeni’s home-shipping, and even get some ice cream action in New York City at the Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams Street Treats Truck!
All of Jeni’s ingredients are “carefully sourced,” with local produce and fair-trade bean-to-bar chocolate, as well as vanilla, and that is something the company takes pride in. They also use grass-grazed cream. The ingredients are not only sometimes rare, but super wild and a lot of fun! For instance, my favorite flavor is “Bangkok Peanut,” which includes some cayenne pepper for that extra bang! I also love “Salty Caramel,” but who doesn't?!
Today I had “Black Coffee” and a seasonal flavor, “Double-Toasted Coconut.” As usual, it was delicious!
Happy ice cream eating! Stay cool!
