I have to admit that bookstores are my weakness....there's something about them that just make me feel at home. The Book Loft in German Village has to be my favorite though-I have yet to experience another bookstore where I can roam around for hours and still not completely see every inch. The Book Loft has 32 rooms of books! 32. That's absolute bliss. Not to mention it is nestled into German Village, a historical gem of an area.
It is difficult to share how amazing this place is; it's definitely a place you will want to visit for yourself. But I will do my best to explain how every inch of space is used in this store. As you wander around each corner you may run into a whole other room you didn't realize was there, or just a small nook filled with cards and music. Each room is dedicated to a genre of books and some rooms even have music matched to the genre. It is so fun to wander through narrow hallways and small rooms and see just how many books fit into this bookstore.
The outdoor space is wonderful too! A very calming and quiet atmosphere, it creates a sort of oasis where you can read the books you just purchased or just browse the books that are lining the tables outside as well. As if 32 rooms wasn't already enough, the books spill out the front door too!
So whether you are a book lover or someone who just likes to explore new places, I would highly recommend carving some time out of your day and stopping by The Book Loft to embrace it's richness of history and countless books just waiting to be read. There's something for everyone here-even a whole section for those of us who are proud to call the great state of Ohio home!
