One of my favorite things about Ohio is the ability to go from city to countryside in a short drive. As most of you Ohioans probably know, we have a lot of cornfields and countryside throughout the state. This weekend I went home to visit my family and decided to spend a little time exploring out in rural Ohio. While out driving, I spotted this beautiful abandoned barn right off the road and decided to go check it out!
Sometimes these places can be forgotten treasures. I get so wrapped up in all the city has to offer that I forget to escape to the countryside and see some of our Ohio roots out in the farmlands.
There's nothing about this barn that makes it a landmark or anything extraordinary, but I thought it was just a neat discovery to come across in the rural community. It made me want to explore all over the state in the small towns and countryside! I would highly recommend getting outside of your usual setting and take some chances exploring our state! Find the beauty that is scattered all over this state, in all its forms.
I even took a little risk and decided to climb up in the hay loft...definitely worth it:
