The city of Milford, OH is pretty huge. It is spread over large amounts of land and is hard to fully experience in one day. From my explorations in Milford, my absolute favorite part is the downtown area that runs along Main Street. It's a great place to venture to and check out all the little shops and restaurants. It is clear there is history in that area of Milford, and I was surprised to find out it was developed in the early 1800's. That's pretty awesome!
When you stop on Main Street, you will find shops ranging in all sorts of products-anything from antiques, vintage, outdoor sporting goods, toys, and clothing. Then you also have plenty of restaurants, coffee shops and bakeries. It's wonderful to just be able to stroll down the short stretch of Main Street and get to experience such a wide range of shopping. I will share you a few of my favorite places to stop when I'm there:
Roads, Rivers and Trails This is usually my first (and sometimes also my last stop) when I'm up in Milford. I love the outdoors and I can usually find a reason to stop in there and browse. And if I can't find a valid reason, I will at least stop in to visit the kayak that I hope to own someday. I love this shop because they have really good products and a super friendly and helpful staff. They will walk through their products with you and be sure that you are getting the best in what you're looking for. They love Ohio there too and have plenty of books and knowledge on trails and adventures to be had in the outdoors here. Not to mention they are Ohio proud and carry our shirts and stickers there as well!
Coolest Toys on Earth The name pretty much says it all, but if you haven't stopped in here yet, it is a must! No matter what your age. They have so many cool toys to play with-probably even some you may not have seen before. It is a truly unique store and is worth stopping in to escape to childhood for a bit!
Big Poppa Slim's Cafe Before I leave, I will try to stop by here and grab some lunch! A small cafe serving up some delicious sandwiches (and a bunch of other food)! The first time I stopped in here, it was completely by chance, but once I tasted their Harry Connick Jr. I was sold! Oh, did I mention that all of their meals are named after famous musicians? Just another reason why it is so awesome! Another great thing about this business is they use a lot of local food products including fresh local produce. They're only open for breakfast and lunch, so be sure to get in before 2:30 and grab yourself a delicious lunch.
There are so many other amazing places to check out, these are just a few of my favorites! Spend an afternoon exploring up in Downtown Milford (if you haven't already) and check out all it has to offer!
