I couldn't wait a second longer to begin participating in fall activities. Fall is my absolute favorite time of year and it has been off to a wonderful start here in Ohio. Seriously, it has been absolutely gorgeous! So, I made a drive to visit Irons Fruit Farm in Lebanon, OH this past week and had an awesome time. Now, I know there are many farms throughout Ohio that offer wonderful fall activities, and believe me, I fully intend on visiting as many as possible. This, however, was the first stop of my fall adventures!
I had never been to Irons Fruit Farm, but I had heard wonderful things from many people, so I decided to go check it out! I had such a blast. I went on a Friday morning, so some of their activities were not open, but I thoroughly enjoyed my time spent there. First I went and checked out all the farm animals they had there. Super entertaining if you ask me. Made friends with a crazy goat and somehow managed to severely piss off the donkey by doing absolutely nothing. But hey, at least it was entertaining to everyone else...actually, I was laughing too-its braying was a little out of control. They also had some hogs, giant birds (emus, I think) and what I believe to be either a llama or alpaca. Whatever the full list of animals may include, I can tell you they are all very entertaining and lovable. You can feed most of them too!
After spending probably too much time feeding, petting and laughing at the animals, I venture to check out the pumpkins! They had a nice batch of them right next to the animals. On weekends, they offer a hayride to go pick out your own pumpkin from the field, but since I was there during the week, I just enjoyed the pumpkins they already had picked. Nothing really says fall to me like some pumpkins!
I then ventured inside the shop to get some fall goodies to take home with me! Must-haves include apple cider, apples and some sort of baked good (I opted for a donut). They had some other great things in there are well, but I went in with a mission.
I've also heard they have a killer corn maze, but again, it's only open on weekends! This years corn maze is western themed! I love me a good corn maze, so I will likely be headed back for a second round soon.
